This was a short, but difficult 32 mile bike day. Mostly we rode through farmlands. We stopped at Santa Domingo de la Calzada and had a Spanish tortilla (not the same as tortilla at home). We think it's a combo of potatoes, cheese and eggs. Super delish! Also a cup of coffee. It was only 6 Euros for the both of us!
Most of the day was headwind and hills, so 32 miles was enough! Tomorrow we have a similar ride, but not as much ascent going into Burgos. Our plan is to stay at Burgos 3 days because a storm front is moving through (see pic below). The little circle is positioned on Burgos and the color red on the wind chart is 30+ mph sustained wind with gusts up to 65 mpg. We will hunker down and maybe have to make up the mileage later (or take a train if necessary).
So, tomorrow, Burgos where the foody tour begins! :)

I’m looking forward to seeing pictures of your food tour 😋

ReplyDeleteThanks Beth & Don!! Appreciate you supporting and reading this thing!!! :)
DeleteAwesome, Spanish tortilla is best described as an omelette, it’s made with egg, potato and onion, pour some olive oil on top when served and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI think Alex and I are over-indulging on these. Today we each had 3 - two for breakfast and a mid-morning boost!
DeleteLooking good dad! Catching up on the blog posts today, hope you guys are having a great time! :) - Emily
