L2L Day 23 - Estella to Najera

Man, there are a lot of hills in Northern Spain!  But no complaints.  We positioned ourselves to ride into Burgos tomorrow.  It will be a pretty tough ride, but we will take a day off when we get there and hopefully find some really enjoyable food to eat!

-update- We will ride half way to Burgos to a town called Belgrado.  I think it will be much more enjoyable!  :)

The big meal in Spain is lunch, so we need to time our eating patterns a bit better.  I want you all to check out the first picture - it's a little girl, maybe 7-8 years old riding the Camino with a set of panniers on her bike.  So damn cute!

  1. That little girl with the panniers reminds me of Bonnie, when she was about 10 she and I did Le Petit Train du Nord trail near Montreal. Your photos showed quite a cariety of riding today and some hike-a-bike. Quite an adventure! My comments might be a little less frequent as the Katy Trail trip has begun. Nice group of 14. Enjoy your mid-day meals! Maybe set aside some time in the afternoon for a little siesta?

    1. Steve, Spain is throwing everything at us! It's a true adventure and the hills are no joke - very challenging. I think that after Burgos we get a break for a couple of days (from the hills) before we face more near the west coast. Burgos will offer great foods and siestas, I'm sure

    1. Hi Maureen! Thanks for the comments. I'm fully agreeing with you. We are getting along great with the pilgrims! The first encounter for us was just before we arrived at Saint Pier de Port, in France (just prior to the Pyrenees climb). Our route joins and separates from the Camino several times each day. As we move westward, the more dense the pilgrim population becomes! Buen Camino!
