We had a brand new bottom bracket installed on Alex's bike today. Apparently it was quite an upgrade, but we were not shopping for value at this point! We asked to check the old one and sure enough, the bar rings were seized.
We returned our bikes to the hotel and spent the rest of afternoon sightseeing on foot, doing laundry and preparing ourselves for our ride in the morning. We will make our way to the coast and probably stay at Biscarrosse. We haven't firmed up our decision yet - you will find out when you read our blog tomorrow :)
That new bottom bracket should take care of the problem. Looks like a really capable bike shop. That noodle soup should keep you going for a while too. Nice photos of the town. Looks old but inviting.
